Goya Brass Wall Sconce
Product Description
SevernLighting
Engineered for precision, the Goya Brass Wall Sconce by SevernLighting is a premium hardwired LED picture light designed to elegantly illuminate artwork, mirrors, and architectural shelving. A slim, solid-brass cylindrical profile is supported by an articulated arm and a compact 5.9″ × 2.4″ backplate. Projecting 6.5″ from the wall, it seamlessly accommodates the depth of most frames.
Housed within the brass fixture, an integrated 3000K warm white LED pairs with a premium frosted diffuser to deliver a seamless, glare-free wash of light—completely free of harsh hot spots. The pivoting head offers precise directional control, putting the light exactly where your display demands it. Available in three tailored lengths—23.6″, 31.5″, and 39.4″—this sconce perfectly complements pieces ranging from 35″ to over 59″ wide.
Inside the tube, an integrated 3000K warm white LED shines through a frosted diffuser for an even, glare-free band of light with no visible hot spots. The head turns up or down to place that light exactly where it is needed, and three lengths, 23.6″, 31.5″ and 39.4″, let you match the fixture to pieces from about 35″ to more than 59″ wide.
DETAILS MATTER
What Makes It Special
01 Solid Brass Construction
The fixture body is made from solid brass rather than plated steel, giving it a reassuring weight and the rigidity to keep a long tube straight and true. Each piece is finished by hand in antique brass with a fine brushed grain, so subtle variations in tone are part of its character and no two lights look exactly alike.
02 Integrated 3000K LED
A continuous LED strip runs the length of the tube behind a frosted diffuser, producing a uniform band of light without the dark gaps or bright spots of bulb-based picture lights. The 3000K color temperature renders warm tones, wood frames and skin naturally, while LEDs emit almost no UV and little heat, which makes them a gallery-safe choice for paintings, prints and photographs.
03 Adjustable Turning Head
The head turns up and down by hand so you can direct the beam onto the surface below rather than into the viewer’s eyes. Turn it down to wash a canvas from top to bottom, keep it level for an even band across a mirror or shelf, or turn it up to graze the wall with a soft accent glow. It moves on a single axis, so the bar always stays parallel to the frame.
04 Designed for a Clean Installation
The compact 5.9″ × 2.4″ backplate mounts onto a standard single-gang wall box and hides the wiring connection completely, with all mounting hardware included. A 6.5″ projection carries the light past the face of most frames, and the hardwired design means no visible cord running down the wall. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Where It Fits Best
A slim brass tube that tilts, so light lands on the surface, not in your eyes.
Above a Painting
The 6.5″ projection carries the light out past the frame, and the tilting head lets you set the beam so it falls evenly down the canvas from top to bottom. Warm 3000K LED brings out the depth in oils, wood frames and gilded edges. This is where it looks its very best.

Finding Your Fit
Choose a light about half to two thirds the width of what hangs below. Small (23.6″) suits frames 35–47″ wide, Medium (31.5″) suits 47–63″, and Large (39.4″) suits 59″ and wider. Mount the backplate so the bar sits about 4–6″ above the top of the frame, then tilt the head to set where the light lands.

FIXTURE DETAILS
Modeled on the classic picture lights found in museums and galleries, every Severn sconce from SevernLighting is crafted from solid brass and hand-finished in antique brass, with a fine brushed grain you can see and feel. It comes in three lengths, 23.6″, 31.5″ and 39.4″, each standing 3.5″ tall with a 6.5″ projection, and is designed for hardwired wall installation.
Integrated LED in 3000K warm white, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. The head tilts up and down to aim the light exactly where you want it.
Questions & Answers
Which size should I choose?
Measure the width of the frame or mirror the light will sit above, then choose a light about half to two thirds of that width. Small (23.6″ / 60 cm) suits pieces 35–47″ wide, Medium (31.5″ / 80 cm) suits 47–63″, and Large (39.4″ / 100 cm) suits 59″ and wider. If you are between two sizes, the longer one gives more even light at the edges.
How high above the artwork should I mount it?
Most people mount the backplate so the light bar sits about 4–6″ (10–15 cm) above the top edge of the frame. This keeps the fixture clear of the frame and lets the light fall evenly down the surface. Then tilt the head to set exactly where the brightest part of the light lands.
Can the head rotate left and right?
No. The head tilts up and down only, which is all you need to aim light onto a flat surface such as a painting or mirror. Because it can't swing sideways, the bar always stays parallel to the frame and looks straight.
Will the LED light damage my paintings?
The integrated LEDs give off almost no ultraviolet light and very little heat. UV and heat are the two main causes of fading and drying in artwork, so the Severn is a safe choice for oil paintings, watercolors, prints and photographs.
Is it made of real brass?
Yes. The body is solid brass with a hand-applied antique brass finish. Because the finish is applied by hand, each piece has slight natural variations in tone and grain.
How is it installed?
The Severn is hardwired, which means it connects directly to the wiring in your wall rather than plugging into a socket. The backplate mounts onto a standard single-gang wall box, and all mounting hardware is included. We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
What does 3000K warm white mean?
3000K describes the color of the light: a soft, warm white similar to a traditional lamp. It flatters skin tones, wood and the warm colors found in most paintings, and feels far cozier than the cool white light used in offices.
Can I replace the LED myself?
The LED is built into the fixture, which keeps the tube slim and means there are no bulbs to change. It is designed to last for many years. If it ever needs service, contact the SevernLighting team and we will help you directly.
How do I care for the brass finish?
Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid metal polish, abrasive pads and chemical cleaners, as these can strip the antique finish. Always switch off the power and let the fixture cool before cleaning.

SevernLighting · Picture Light
SevernThe art of a quiet light.
A slim tube of solid brass, hand-finished in antique brass and carried 6.5″ from the wall on a bent arm with a single turning joint. Inside, an integrated 3000K LED behind a frosted diffuser casts one even, glare-free band of light, with almost no UV or heat to trouble the artwork beneath it. Designed for the paintings, mirrors and shelves you want to look at long after the overhead lights go off.

The Anatomy
Six parts, one line of light
Every element of the Severn has a job: to hold the light out from the wall, to aim it, and to keep it soft.
- Backplate covers a standard single-gang box.
- Bent brass arm reaches out, then drops to the tube.
- Turning joint angles the head up or down.
- Antique brass tube with a hand-brushed grain.
- Frosted diffuser for one even band of light.
- 3000K wash falls down the whole canvas.

In Detail
Look closer, piece by piece
Detail 01 — Backplate & Turning Joint
Where the arm meets the tube
- The rectangular backplate is brushed brass with two small fixing screws along its top edge, sized at 5.9″ × 2.4″ to cover a standard single-gang wall box.
- The brass arm reaches out from the plate, bends down and meets the tube at a cylindrical turning joint, the single pivot that angles the head up or down.
- Look closely and you can see the fine, directional brushed grain and the soft tonal variation of the hand-applied antique finish.
Detail 02 — Tube & LED Strip
A clean line of light
- The slim brass tube carries a frosted LED strip set along its underside, so the light source itself stays out of sight.
- The strip runs almost the full length of the tube, giving one continuous band of light without the gaps or bright spots of bulb-based picture lights.
- Each end of the tube is closed with a neat brass cap edged by a fine ring, a small detail that finishes the line cleanly.
The Light
How the light reaches the art
The Severn does not simply shine straight down. The arm carries the tube out from the wall, and the frosted LED strip angles a soft wash back toward the surface, so the whole piece is lit, not just the top edge of the frame.
Fig. 3 Side sectionLight path

Distance does the work
Because the tube sits 6.5″ off the wall, light arrives at an angle and spreads as it travels, washing down the canvas instead of pooling in a bright stripe along the top of the frame.
Diffused, not dazzling
The frosted diffuser blends the individual LEDs into one smooth band, so the light reads as an even glow on the surface with no hot spots or reflections of tiny points.
You choose where it lands
Turn the head down to reach the bottom of a tall canvas, keep it level for a mirror or shelf, or turn it up to glow on the wall above. One fixture, three moods.
Kind to what it lights
LED light carries almost no UV and very little heat, the two main causes of fading and drying, so prints, photographs and oils can sit under it night after night.
In the Home
Rooms made for this light

Light falls from the front onto whoever stands at the mirror, easing the harsh shadows of ceiling-only lighting.

In a study, it lays warm light across the wall art and desk, a calm accent for evening reading and writing.

Light from above the mirror falls evenly on the face. Mount away from direct water spray.

In a hallway or entry, it gives a calm welcome light and highlights a mirror, print or console as you walk in.
Light needs distance to fall evenly. Everything about the Severn is built around that one idea.Design notes · SevernLighting
Why a slim tube?
A closed brass tube hides the light source completely and keeps the fixture just 3.5″ tall, so it frames the artwork instead of competing with it. No shade, no exposed bulb, only a clean line of brass.
Why this arm?
Light needs distance to fall evenly. The arm reaches out from the wall and bends down to the tube, bringing the light 6.5″ forward so the beam clears the frame and reaches down the canvas.
Why 3000K warm white?
3000K sits close to evening lamplight. It brings out the warmth in oils, gilt and wood frames, flatters skin at a mirror, and feels calm in a living room, where cool white light would look clinical.
Why Brass
Brass, compared with the usual shortcuts
Many picture lights are made from plated iron, painted steel or aluminum to save cost. Choose one below to see how it compares with the solid brass used on the Severn.
