Refund policy

Return Policy

  1. Return Period: You may request a return within 30 days of receiving your item. The period is calculated based on the delivery date shown in the logistics tracking record. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund or exchange if more than 30 days have passed since receipt, and you must submit a return inquiry within this timeframe.
  2. Eligibility for Return: The item must be in the same condition as you received it—unused, with intact tags, and in its original packaging. You will also need a receipt or proof of purchase.
  3. Eligible Return Scenarios and Cost Responsibility:
    • If the item has quality issues or is damaged during transportation, we will provide a free return service, cover all related costs, and support a full refund or free replacement.
    • If you request a return due to personal reasons, you shall bear the return shipping costs, with specific fees based on the charging standards of the courier company you choose. Personal reasons include but are not limited to: subjectively believing the product does not meet expectations, size/color not matching your imagination, change of mind or no longer needing the product, incorrect order information (e.g., wrong product model or quantity), and misunderstanding of product functions/specifications due to failure to read the product description carefully.
  4. Non-Returnable Items:
    • Items beyond the 30-day return period;
    • Customized, personalized, or specially ordered products made to your specifications;
    • Light bulbs;
    • Items not in their original condition, with missing tags, or not returned in their original packaging.
  5. Special Provisions for the European Union: If the product is shipped to the European Union, you have a 14-day cooling-off period. During this period, you may cancel or return the order for any reason without providing a specific explanation. However, the item must remain in the same condition as received—unused, with intact tags, and in original packaging—and you must present proof of purchase.

Return Shipping Costs

  • Borne by Severnlighting: Returns due to product defects, incorrect delivery, or shipping damage (subject to verification).
  • Borne by the customer: Returns initiated for personal reasons, including but not limited to:
    1. The product does not meet personal expectations (e.g., color, design, or features).
    2. Size mismatches based on personal judgment.
    3. Change of mind or no longer needing the product.
    4. Ordering the wrong item or quantity.
    5. Failure to read the product description thoroughly, leading to unexpected features or specifications.
  • Customs fees incurred for returning the goods to China follow the same cost-bearing principle as the return shipping costs. Specifically, such fees will be borne by Severnlighting for returns due to product defects, incorrect delivery, or shipping damage (subject to verification); for returns initiated for personal reasons, such fees will be borne by the customer.

Exchange Policy

  1. Exchange Process: The fastest way to get the item you want is to first return the original product in accordance with the above return policy. Once the return is approved, you can place a separate order for the desired new item.
  2. Exchange Cost Responsibility:
    • For exchanges due to product quality issues or transportation damage, we will cover all costs related to the return of the original product and the delivery of the new product;
    • If you take the initiative to request an exchange due to personal reasons, you must follow the return process for personal reasons. You will be responsible for the return shipping cost of the original product and the purchase price of the new product.

Order Cancellation

  1. Customized Products: Once an order is confirmed, it cannot be canceled.
  2. Non-Customized Products:
    • You may cancel the order within 24 hours of placing it without incurring any fees;
    • If you cancel the order after 24 hours but before the product is shipped, a $50 handling fee will apply;
    • Once the order is shipped, it cannot be canceled.

Return Process

  1. Carefully read this policy to confirm your order meets the return eligibility criteria;
  2. Send an inquiry email including the reason for return to the official email address (kay@severnlighting.com);
  3. We will confirm your refund eligibility and applicable refund amount based on the return reason and product condition;
  4. Upon approval, we will provide you with an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number, return/exchange address, and shipping label instructions. Please strictly follow these requirements; otherwise, we will not be able to process your refund;
  5. You shall bear the return shipping costs (except for cases involving quality issues or transportation damage). We do not provide prepaid shipping labels. Please mark the RMA number on the outer packaging of the return parcel and include a printed copy of the order confirmation email inside the parcel;
  6. After shipping the item, please notify us via email and provide the logistics tracking number (if available).
  7. We will complete the review and processing of the returned item within 3-5 business days of receipt.

Refund Processing

  1. After receiving and inspecting the returned item, we will notify you via email whether your refund application has been approved;
  2. If approved, the refund will be automatically credited to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note that your bank or credit card company may require additional time to process and post the refund, so please wait patiently;
  3. If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved and you have not received the funds, please contact us via the official email (kay@severnlighting.com) or WhatsApp.

Return/Exchange Address

Before shipping your return parcel, you must contact us via email (kay@severnlighting.com) to obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Items shipped without authorization may not be processed.
