How high should I hang it over a table?
Hang the bottom of the chandelier about 30–36 inches above the tabletop, raising it slightly for higher ceilings so the fixture stays in proportion. The Ottoline ships with a fixed suspension length — please check the dimensions for the drop, and contact us before ordering if you need it built to a different height.
What kind of light do the alabaster orbs give?
Each orb is carved from genuine natural alabaster, so light passes through the stone and scatters into a soft, warm, glare-free glow, revealing the alabaster's cloudy veining as it lights up.
Is it hardwired? Do I need an electrician?
Yes, the Ottoline is a hardwired ceiling fixture. As with any chandelier of this size, we recommend professional installation to ensure it's mounted securely and wired to code.
What size room does it suit?
Its full, clustered form makes a confident statement in medium to large rooms and over dining tables. As a guide, add your room's length and width in feet and use that number in inches as an approximate diameter; over a table, size the fixture to roughly half to two-thirds of the table's width.
Will every alabaster orb look exactly the same?
Very close, with the natural variation you'd expect from real stone. Because alabaster is a natural mineral, the veining and tone differ subtly from orb to orb — no two clusters are identical, which is part of the appeal of a genuine alabaster fixture.
