The Bellerose Ribbon Bow Brass Wall Sconce with Mirror Backplate and Fabric Shade brings a hand-tied bow to the wall, with a ribbed brass ribbon looped around a slim stem and its tails falling softly over a round mirror glass backplate. A tapered fabric shade crowns the stem and sends a gentle halo up the wall, while the mirror catches the glow and doubles every reflection along the ribbon.
Picture a pair of them on either side of the bed at the end of the day: the room dimmed, the light pooling softly above the pillows, and the bow catching small flashes of light every time you pass. What size is it, and will it fit my space?+
The sconce stands 13.2″ (33.5 cm) tall, with a 5.5″ (14 cm) shade, a 4.7″ (12 cm) round backplate and a 5.9″ (15 cm) projection from the wall. This compact scale suits bedside walls, vanity mirrors up to about 36″ wide, powder rooms and hallways without overpowering the wall. For a pair beside a bed, center each sconce roughly 4–6″ outside the edge of the headboard; beside a mirror, leave about 3–6″ between the mirror edge and the backplate. In commercial corridors, note that ADA guidelines limit wall-mounted fixtures between 27″ and 80″ high to a 4″ projection.
How high should I mount it?+
Beside a bed, place the bottom of the shade about 28–30″ above the top of the mattress, which keeps the light at shoulder height when you sit up to read. Beside a vanity mirror, mount the center of the backplate about 60–66″ above the floor so the light falls evenly across the face from both sides. In hallways and on stair walls, the same 60–66″ height works well, with fixtures spaced about 6–8 feet apart for a steady rhythm of light.
How is it installed?+
The Bellerose is a hardwired sconce: the mounting bracket screws to a standard wall junction box, the wires are connected inside the box, and the 4.7″ backplate then covers the box for a clean finish. In US wiring, black connects to the hot wire, white to neutral, and green or bare copper to ground. Turn off power at the breaker before starting, and we recommend installation by a licensed electrician to meet local electrical codes.
What bulb does it take?+
It takes one bulb with an E12 or E14 base, up to 40W maximum (bulb not included). E12 is the standard US candelabra base and is easy to find in any hardware store, while E14 is the common European size. We suggest an LED candelabra bulb: it uses far less energy, stays cool inside the fabric shade and lasts for years, and you can choose any light color you prefer.
Does it work with US household power, and can it be dimmed?+
Yes. The sconce is rated AC 110–240V, so it runs directly on standard 120V US household current with no converter or adapter. It is controlled by a wall switch (not included), and the fixture itself has no built-in dimmer. If you would like dimming, pair a dimmable E12 LED bulb with a compatible wall dimmer, or contact us and we will help you choose.
What is it made of, and how do the colors differ?+
The stem and the ribbed ribbon bow are brass, finished in either gold or nickel, and mounted on a round mirror glass backplate that reflects the glow. Gold brings a warm, romantic tone that pairs well with wood, cream and blush interiors, while nickel reads cooler and crisper alongside white, gray and chrome. The white fabric shade diffuses light softly through the shade itself; the black shade keeps the light directed up and down for a more dramatic, tailored look.
Can I buy a matching pair?+
Yes. Choose the Set of 2 option to get two identical sconces for less than buying them one at a time. Both pieces ship together in the same finish and shade color, so they match exactly when mounted beside a bed, a mirror or a doorway.
How do I clean and care for it?+
Switch off the light and let the bulb cool first. Dust the brass bow and stem with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, and wipe the mirror backplate with a barely damp cloth, drying it right away so moisture never reaches the edges. Refresh the fabric shade with a lint roller or a soft brush, and avoid spray cleaners, polish or abrasives, which can dull the finish over time.

- Free Standard Shipping: Free on all orders, with an estimated delivery time of 20-40 business days. We ship to the continental United States (48 contiguous states) only — we are unable to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. Boxes, or APO/FPO addresses.
- Expedited Shipping: Express service with a shipping time of 9-20 business days. Fees are tiered by order value, starting at $80 for orders up to $200 and rising to $760 for orders up to $2,000. For orders above $2,000, contact us for a custom quote.
- Order Processing Time: Orders are typically processed within 3-5 business days, including inventory verification, packaging, and inspection. Made-to-order pieces require an additional 5-12 business days in production. During peak seasons or promotions, please allow 1-3 business days of additional processing time.
- Carriers & Tracking: We ship with UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Every order includes full shipping insurance and package tracking. Your tracking number is emailed to you as soon as the package leaves our facility.
- Duties & Taxes: All applicable U.S. customs duties and import taxes are covered by SevernLighting. The price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
Delivery Issues:
- Tracking Not Updating: If there is no movement on your tracking for 2-3 weeks, contact us and we will investigate with the carrier.
- Address Errors: Please double-check your address at checkout. We cannot be responsible for packages lost or misdelivered due to an incorrect address. Once shipped, address changes are not guaranteed and carriers may charge a fee.
- Marked Delivered but Missing: Check around your property and with neighbors first. If the package is still missing after 7 days, contact us and we will assist.
- Out-of-Stock Items: If an item is unavailable, we will notify you by email as soon as possible. You may wait for restock or cancel for a full refund. Your payment method is only charged once the item ships.
- Please Note: Fixtures are assembled and dispatched from our manufacturing facility in Guangdong, China. All delivery timeframes are estimates — customs clearance and local postal processing can cause delays beyond our control.

Refund & Return Policy
Return and Exchange Policy:
- 30-Day Return & Exchange Window: Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order for a return or exchange, based on the delivery date confirmed in your tracking record. Requests submitted after 30 days cannot be processed.
- Eligibility: Items must be unused and in original condition with all tags, labels, packaging, accessories, and manuals intact. Fixtures requiring assembly must be returned unassembled — pieces that have been installed, or that have damaged wiring or loosened components, are not eligible. A valid order number or proof of purchase is required.
- Non-Returnable Items: Made-to-order, customized, and personalized pieces; light bulbs and consumables once opened; items no longer in original condition or with damaged packaging; and final sale items.
Return Shipping Costs:
- Our Responsibility: If the return is due to a product quality issue, manufacturing defect, shipping damage, incorrect delivery, or a package returned to sender undelivered, we cover all return shipping costs including any applicable customs fees, and issue a full refund or a free replacement.
- Customer Responsibility: If the return is based on personal preference — color, design, or features not matching expectations, size judged incorrectly, change of mind, or ordering the wrong item, model, or quantity — the customer covers return shipping and any related customs fees.
Exchanges & Cancellations:
- Exchanges: The fastest route is to return the original piece, then place a new order once the return is approved. For quality or damage issues we cover both directions; for personal-preference exchanges, the customer covers return shipping on the original plus the full price of the new piece.
- Order Cancellation: Stock items can be cancelled free of charge within 24 hours. After 24 hours but before shipping, a $50 handling fee applies. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled — please follow the return process instead. Made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled once confirmed, as production begins immediately.
How to Start a Return:
- Step 1 — Submit your request: Email kay@severnlighting.com within 30 days with your order number, the items involved, a detailed reason for the return, and photos of any damage or issue.
- Step 2 — Receive your RMA number: We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number along with the return address. Returns sent without prior authorization cannot be accepted or processed.
- Step 3 — Pack and ship: Repack the piece securely in its original packaging with all accessories and a copy of your order confirmation. Mark the RMA number clearly on the outside of the parcel, then email us the return tracking number.
- Step 4 — Inspection: We inspect returned pieces within 3-5 business days of arrival and confirm approval by email.
Refund Processing:
- Timing: Refunds are issued automatically to your original payment method — typically 1-3 business days for PayPal and 5-7 business days for credit or debit cards. Your bank may need additional time to post the credit. If you have not received your refund within 15 business days of approval, email us with your order number.
- Return Address: Returns are received at our facility in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. For customer-initiated returns, please factor international return shipping into your decision — we will confirm the full address and estimated cost when we issue your RMA number.

A ribbon of brass,

The Bellerose Ribbon Bow Wall Sconce began with the ribbons on old hatboxes and bundles of letters — pleated, a little imperfect, tied by hand and never quite symmetrical.
We shaped that ribbon in brass, gave it fine ridges like grosgrain, and let its tails fall loose below a slim stem. A round mirror behind it doubles the glow, and a white fabric shade turns the bulb into a soft wash across the wall.

Pinked ribbon edges
Both edges of the brass ribbon are cut in a fine zigzag, just like fabric trimmed with pinking shears, so the bow reads as real ribbon rather than flat metal.

Pressed grosgrain ridges
Close ridges run along the whole length of the ribbon. They catch light from every angle and give the brass the texture of woven grosgrain.

The centre of the bow is wrapped in a crisp squared knot, the same ridged brass, holding both loops firmly to the stem.
