The Ovelune Wall Sconce by SevernLighting is a sculptural oval wall light that never shows its bulb. A deep oval shell in a warm antique brass finish holds a smaller floating disc at its center, and the light hides behind it.
Light from the G9 bulbs reaches outward into the curved shell, warms as it travels across the brushed surface and returns to the room as a soft golden halo. Standing 18.9″ tall and projecting just 3.7″ from the wall, it is dimmable and hardwired for a clean, cord-free installation.

What Makes It Special
01 Hidden-Bulb Halo Glow
The bulbs sit behind the floating inner disc, so you never look straight into a bare light. Instead, the light bounces off the curved shell and spreads as an indirect, glare-free glow, much like the bright ring around the moon during an eclipse. It is the kind of light that sets a mood rather than flooding a room.
02 Antique Brass Finish
The stainless steel and aluminum body is finished in an antique brass tone with fine brushed lines that catch and soften the light. When lit, the color shifts from deep bronze at the rim to honeyed gold inside the curve, so the fixture looks as good switched off as it does glowing.
03 Fully Dimmable
Paired with dimmable LED G9 bulbs and a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch, such as Lutron Skylark or Leviton Decora, Ovelune moves from a bright welcome to a low, candle-like ember. Because the light is always reflected, even full brightness stays soft on the eyes, which makes it a natural choice beside the bed or along a hallway at night.
04 Slim, Clean Installation
With a projection of only 3.7″ (9.5 cm), Ovelune sits close to the wall and suits narrow hallways and stairways. It is hardwired, so there is no cord running down the wall, and it mounts onto a standard single-gang wall box with all mounting hardware included. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Finding Your Fit
As a general guide, center wall sconces about 60–66″ (152–168 cm) above the floor in hallways and living spaces. Beside a bed, many people mount them a little lower so the glow sits just above the headboard. In long hallways, spacing sconces about 8–10 ft (2.4–3 m) apart gives an even rhythm of light. On darker walls, the halo looks especially striking.

The Story Behind Ovelune
The name Ovelune joins oval with lune, the French word for moon. It began with a simple question at the SevernLighting studio: what if a wall light didn’t shine at you, but glowed for you? Like the moon in an eclipse, the inner disc hides the source, and all you see is the light that escapes around its edge.

What type of bulb does the Ovelune use?
Ovelune uses G9 bi-pin bulbs, which are sold separately. We recommend warm white LED G9 bulbs in 2700K–3000K to bring out the warmth of the antique brass finish. If you plan to use a dimmer, choose bulbs marked dimmable.
Is the Ovelune wall sconce dimmable?
Yes — it requires a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Ovelune dims when used with dimmable LED G9 bulbs and a compatible TRIAC dimmer, such as Lutron Skylark or Leviton Decora.
How big is it?
Ovelune measures 48 cm (18.9″) tall and 18 cm (7.1″) wide, and projects 9.5 cm (3.7″) from the wall. It weighs 5 kg (11 lbs).
Can I see the bulb when the light is on?
No. The bulbs sit behind the floating inner disc, so the light reflects off the curved shell as a soft, glare-free halo instead of shining directly at you.
Is it made of real brass?
No. The body is made of stainless steel and aluminum, finished in an antique brass tone. This gives you the warm look of aged brass in a durable fixture.
How is it installed?
Ovelune is hardwired, which means it connects directly to the wiring in your wall rather than plugging into a socket. It fits a standard single-gang wall box, and all mounting hardware is included. We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
Should I buy one or a pair?
A single Ovelune makes a striking accent on a feature wall or above a console. Beside a bed, or on either side of a mirror or doorway, a pair creates a balanced, symmetrical look. Choose the “Set of 2” option to save compared with buying two separately.
How do I care for the finish?
Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid metal polish, abrasive pads and chemical cleaners, as these can damage the antique brass finish. Always switch off the power and let the fixture cool before cleaning.

- Free Standard Shipping: Free on all orders, with an estimated delivery time of 20-30 business days. We ship to the continental United States (48 contiguous states) only — we are unable to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. Boxes, or APO/FPO addresses.
- Expedited Shipping: Express service with a shipping time of 10-20 business days. Fees are tiered by order value, starting at $80 for orders up to $200 and rising to $760 for orders up to $2,000. For orders above $2,000, contact us for a custom quote.
- Order Processing Time: Orders are typically processed within 5-10 business days, including inventory verification, packaging, and inspection. Made-to-order pieces require an additional 5-12 business days in production. During peak seasons or promotions, please allow 1-3 business days of additional processing time.
- Carriers & Tracking: We ship with UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Every order includes full shipping insurance and package tracking. Your tracking number is emailed to you as soon as the package leaves our facility.
- Duties & Taxes: All applicable U.S. customs duties and import taxes are covered by SevernLighting. The price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
Delivery Issues:
- Tracking Not Updating: If there is no movement on your tracking for 2-3 weeks, contact us and we will investigate with the carrier.
- Address Errors: Please double-check your address at checkout. We cannot be responsible for packages lost or misdelivered due to an incorrect address. Once shipped, address changes are not guaranteed and carriers may charge a fee.
- Marked Delivered but Missing: Check around your property and with neighbors first. If the package is still missing after 7 days, contact us and we will assist.
- Out-of-Stock Items: If an item is unavailable, we will notify you by email as soon as possible. You may wait for restock or cancel for a full refund. Your payment method is only charged once the item ships.
- Please Note: Fixtures are assembled and dispatched from our manufacturing facility in Guangdong, China. All delivery timeframes are estimates — customs clearance and local postal processing can cause delays beyond our control.

Refund & Return Policy
Return and Exchange Policy:
- 30-Day Return & Exchange Window: Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order for a return or exchange, based on the delivery date confirmed in your tracking record. Requests submitted after 30 days cannot be processed.
- Eligibility: Items must be unused and in original condition with all tags, labels, packaging, accessories, and manuals intact. Fixtures requiring assembly must be returned unassembled — pieces that have been installed, or that have damaged wiring or loosened components, are not eligible. A valid order number or proof of purchase is required.
- Non-Returnable Items: Made-to-order, customized, and personalized pieces; light bulbs and consumables once opened; items no longer in original condition or with damaged packaging; and final sale items.
Return Shipping Costs:
- Our Responsibility: If the return is due to a product quality issue, manufacturing defect, shipping damage, incorrect delivery, or a package returned to sender undelivered, we cover all return shipping costs including any applicable customs fees, and issue a full refund or a free replacement.
- Customer Responsibility: If the return is based on personal preference — color, design, or features not matching expectations, size judged incorrectly, change of mind, or ordering the wrong item, model, or quantity — the customer covers return shipping and any related customs fees.
Exchanges & Cancellations:
- Exchanges: The fastest route is to return the original piece, then place a new order once the return is approved. For quality or damage issues we cover both directions; for personal-preference exchanges, the customer covers return shipping on the original plus the full price of the new piece.
- Order Cancellation: Stock items can be cancelled free of charge within 24 hours. After 24 hours but before shipping, a $50 handling fee applies. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled — please follow the return process instead. Made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled once confirmed, as production begins immediately.
How to Start a Return:
- Step 1 — Submit your request: Email kay@severnlighting.com within 30 days with your order number, the items involved, a detailed reason for the return, and photos of any damage or issue.
- Step 2 — Receive your RMA number: We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number along with the return address. Returns sent without prior authorization cannot be accepted or processed.
- Step 3 — Pack and ship: Repack the piece securely in its original packaging with all accessories and a copy of your order confirmation. Mark the RMA number clearly on the outside of the parcel, then email us the return tracking number.
- Step 4 — Inspection: We inspect returned pieces within 3-5 business days of arrival and confirm approval by email.
Refund Processing:
- Timing: Refunds are issued automatically to your original payment method — typically 1-3 business days for PayPal and 5-7 business days for credit or debit cards. Your bank may need additional time to post the credit. If you have not received your refund within 15 business days of approval, email us with your order number.
- Return Address: Returns are received at our facility in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. For customer-initiated returns, please factor international return shipping into your decision — we will confirm the full address and estimated cost when we issue your RMA number.

Detail 01 — Shell & Finish
A deep oval that holds the light
- The shell is a deep, curved oval made of stainless steel and aluminum, shaped so that light inside it spreads evenly across the whole surface.
- Its antique brass finish carries fine brushed lines that catch and soften the light, shifting from deep bronze at the rim to honeyed gold inside the curve.
- Switched off, it still reads as a sculptural object on the wall, a quiet oval of warm metal tones.

The eclipse at its heart
- A smaller oval disc floats at the center of the shell, standing just in front of the G9 bulbs so they stay completely out of sight.
- Light escapes around the edge of the disc and washes into the shell, which is why Ovelune glows rather than shines.
- With dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch, such as Lutron Skylark or Leviton Decora, the glow moves from bright to a low, candle-like ember.

Why an oval?
The name joins oval with lune, the French word for moon. A long oval draws the eye upward, suits the proportions of a wall, and gives the light a large curved surface to spread across.
Why hide the bulb?
A visible bulb pulls attention and glares in the eye. Behind the floating disc, it disappears, and all that remains is the light escaping around the edge, like the bright ring of an eclipse.
Why antique brass?
A warm, aged brass tone deepens reflected light into gold. It suits Japandi, mid-century, organic modern and classic interiors alike, and looks finished even when the light is off.
