The Washi Paper A Pendant Light suspends a perfectly round shade of hand-finished rice paper over a fine ribbed frame, glowing from within like a soft paper moon — offered in eleven diameters, from a compact bedside orb to a grand foyer statement, so it settles into any room at exactly the right scale.
THE QUALITY OF LIGHT
The rice paper doesn't block light so much as transform it, spreading an even, glare-free golden glow that softens harsh shadows and makes a room feel quiet and warm. By day the sphere reads as a clean architectural object; by night it becomes a luminous globe.
Offered in eleven diameters — from Ø 11.8″ to Ø 47.2″ — to suit anything from a compact bedside to a high-ceilinged foyer, on an adjustable cord.

A Quick Sizing Rule
Over a table, pick a sphere roughly one-half to two-thirds the table's width. For an open room, add the room's width and length in feet — a total near 20 suits a Ø 20″ sphere, near 40 a Ø 40″ one. When in doubt between two sizes, size up: a globe reads best when it fills its space.

What sizes does it come in, and how do I choose?
The Selene Rice-Paper Globe Pendant Light is offered in eleven diameters, from Ø 11.8″ (30A) up to Ø 47.2″ (120A). Smaller 30A–40A sizes suit bedsides and reading corners; 50A–60A work over most dining tables; 70A–80A anchor living rooms and entry foyers; and 90A–120A are statement pieces for vaulted rooms, grand foyers, and open café-style spaces. Over a table, a good rule is a sphere about one-half to two-thirds the table's width.
How high should I hang it, and can the cord be adjusted?
Over a dining table, keep the bottom of the sphere about 30–36″ above the surface; in a foyer or stairwell, hang it low so the globe fills the void with clearance below. The cord is adjustable during installation and can be shortened or extended on request to set the perfect drop.
What kind of light does it give, and what bulbs does it need?
It takes E26 or E27 bulbs (not included) and runs on AC 110–240V. The hand-finished rice paper diffuses light evenly in all directions, spreading a soft, glare-free amber glow with no harsh hotspots. For the warmest effect, pair it with 2700K–3000K warm-white bulbs.
Can the size, color, or cord be customized?
Yes — it's made to order. Size, shade color, and cord length can all be tailored to your space through direct consultation, so it scales perfectly to your ceiling height and room.
Is it hardwired — do I need an electrician?
Yes, it's hardwired to a standard junction box and wall switch (AC 110–240V, E26/E27 bulbs). Because it connects to your home wiring, professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended, especially for the larger sizes.
How do I clean and care for it?
Dust the paper shade gently with a dry, soft microfiber cloth or a soft brush; avoid water, sprays, and solvents on the paper. Make sure the power is off and the bulb is cool before cleaning. Handled with care, the rice-paper shade keeps its clean, luminous look for years.
