Why alabaster
Why stone creates a softer glow
Light from the bulb filters through translucent alabaster, revealing the stone’s natural veining.
Light through stone
Light from the bulb passes through translucent alabaster for a softly diffused glow.
Every globe is different
Natural clouds and veins give each shade its own individual pattern.
Beautiful, even when unlit
The pale stone and sculptural globes retain their character throughout the day.
Natural depth and texture
Carved alabaster brings an organic finishing touch to the flowing suspension design.
Made by nature
No two globes share the same story.
Clouds, veins and subtle colour variations are natural features of alabaster. Each globe has its own pattern, so your chandelier will differ from the photographs.
Have a particular pattern in mind?
Request custom stone selection before ordering and share reference photos of your preferred veining. We will confirm availability and discuss suitable options. Natural patterns cannot be duplicated exactly.

A closer material comparison
Alabaster, glass or acrylic?
For Veyra, alabaster brings together softly diffused light, individual veining and the character of natural stone.
| Consideration | Alabaster VEYRA SHADE MATERIAL | Glass | Acrylic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light appearance | Translucent stone softens the light and reveals natural veining. | Clear glass offers a more direct view of the light source; frosted or opal glass can diffuse it. | Diffusing grades can produce an even glow; the effect depends on the material and finish. |
| Pattern & individuality | Naturally formed clouds, veins and tones make every shade individual. | Patterns may come from colour, texture or glassmaking techniques. | Colour and pattern are generally introduced during manufacturing. |
| Appearance when unlit | Natural stone texture gives the globe a sculptural presence, even with the light off. | A clear, coloured or milky appearance, depending on the glass. | A smooth, clear, coloured or frosted appearance, depending on the finish. |
| Best suited to | Interiors seeking natural character, distinctive veining and softly glowing stone. | Designs seeking transparency, decorative glass textures or an opal glow. | Designs seeking consistent colour, varied shapes or an engineered diffuser. |
| Care considerations | Dust with a soft, dry cloth; protect the stone from moisture, acids and impact. | Follow the finish-specific instructions; avoid impact and thermal shock. | Use an approved cleaner and soft cloth; avoid abrasives and incompatible solvents. |
General material guidance, not comparative testing of these fixtures. Light appearance depends on shade thickness, finish and bulb choice. Bulb colour temperature determines the light’s colour.
Before you choose
Your questions, answered
Is the alabaster real, and will every shade look the same?
The shades are made from alabaster. Natural veining, tone and translucency vary between pieces, so each globe has its own appearance and will differ slightly from the product photographs.
Which chandelier size should I choose?
Choose 3 lights (Ø 80 × H 120 cm), 5 lights (Ø 100 × H 150 cm), or 9 lights (Ø 120 × H 200 cm). Check ceiling height, room proportions and clearance; confirm the complete installed drop before ordering.
Can the suspension rope be made longer?
Yes. The standard rope length is 150 cm / 59.1″, with longer lengths available on request. Send your ceiling height, preferred drop and selected configuration so we can confirm the required length.
Which bulbs does it use, and can it be dimmed?
G9 and E12 are separate socket versions and are not interchangeable. Confirm your version and its wattage limit before selecting bulbs. Dimming requires a compatible fixture configuration, dimmable bulbs and a suitable dimmer; please confirm before ordering.
What should I check before installation?
Have a qualified electrician check ceiling support, fixing points and electrical connections. Do not cut or splice the conductive rope. For sloped ceilings, send the ceiling angle before ordering so we can confirm a suitable mounting arrangement.
Can I use it outdoors or in a damp room?
This chandelier is rated IP20 for dry indoor use. It is not waterproof and should not be exposed to water spray, outdoor weather or damp conditions.
How do I clean the alabaster shades?
Switch off the power and let the fixture cool. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soaking, acidic products and abrasive cleaners, and do not apply pressure to the stone or suspension ropes.
What is the preparation time?
Average preparation takes 5–10 days, excluding shipping time. For a longer suspension rope, contact us before ordering to confirm the preparation schedule and delivery estimate.
