Natural alabaster

Light held inside the rock.

Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone. Lit from within, it turns from pale ivory to a warm glow, and every vein shows through like a watermark.

Grey and rosy veins read cool by day, then turn amber and brown when the LED is on.

Light glowing through raw alabaster blocks — Light passes through

The stone is thin enough at the core to glow along each column, top to bottom.

Thin alabaster slabs with amber veining lit from behind — No two alike

Each column is cut from natural stone, so the veining on your lamp will be its own.

From quarry to column

Five steps from raw stone.

Every column starts as a block of natural alabaster and is cut, cored and polished before it meets the base.

A wet saw cuts the block into long pieces sized for each column.

Craftsman checking a tall alabaster column — Shape and core

Each piece is shaped into a square column and cored to make room for the light.

Craftsman sanding an alabaster block smooth with a hand sander — Sand

The surface is sanded smooth, so the stone feels soft and even to the touch.

A final polish by hand, checked against the light for an even glow.

Quick answers on light, size, stone and setup.

LightIntegrated LED, 3000K

SwitchFoot switch on cord

PlugUS / UK / AU / EU

Is the light included, and what color is it?

Yes. Trelune uses an integrated LED that comes with the lamp, so there are no bulbs to buy. The light is 3000K warm white, which brings out the amber and brown in the alabaster veining.

How tall is it, and how much floor space does it need?

It stands 61.0 in (155 cm) tall on a 7.9 in (20 cm) footprint. That is narrow enough for a corner, the gap beside a sofa, or the spot next to a bed.

Is the alabaster real, and will mine look like the photos?

Yes, each column is cut, cored and polished from natural alabaster. Because it is natural stone, the veining varies from piece to piece, so your lamp will have its own pattern.

How do I turn it on, and which plug will I get?

It plugs into a wall outlet and switches on and off with a foot switch on the cord. Choose a US, UK, AU or EU plug when you order.

What is the difference between the two finishes?

The alabaster columns are the same. Gold + White has a gold-tone stepped metal base; Black + White has a black metal base. Size and light are identical.

How do I care for the alabaster?

Alabaster is a soft stone, so dust it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and cleaning products on the stone, and keep the lamp out of damp rooms such as bathrooms.
