36 to 46 in tablesAt 22.8 inches across, it spans about half of a table this size.

30 to 36 in aboveLeave this gap between the tabletop and the lowest tubes.

Finding your fit

At 22.8 inches across, Merlande suits round or square tables of 36 to 46 inches, and entryways or bedrooms near 10 by 12 feet. Over a table, leave 30 to 36 inches below the lowest tubes; where people walk underneath, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor.

Sloped ceilingsThe chain hangs straight down from the canopy, so the tiers stay level.

Lights on

Day and night

Amber by day, honey by night.

The tubes hold their amber color in daylight, so Merlande looks warm even switched off.

After dark, seven candelabra lights glow through all 46 tubes. Light travels down the length of each one, and the whole fixture turns a deep honey tone with bright highlights along every ridge.

Forty-six tubes, one warm glow.

How the light travels

The glow runs top to bottom.

Merlande lights its glass from inside the frame. Here is what happens when you switch it on.

Seven lights inside the frameE12/E14 candelabra bulbs sit among the tubes. Bulbs not included; 3000K warm white suits it.
Light travels down each tubeThe glass carries the glow along its length, so every tube lights from top to bottom.
Ridges catch the highlightsThe textured surface breaks the light into bright lines running down the glass.
Four tiers, layered glowThe tiers step in one below the other, so the light builds in layers down to the base.
